Kodiak COVID 19 Update August 13, 2021

Today (Friday) the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported (14) new cases of COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.

 

One (1) case was a close contact of previously reported case, and thirteen (13) cases are of unknown transmission, pending contact tracing.

 

One Hundred Forty-Three (143) cases are currently classified as active locally. There is one (1) case currently hospitalized in Kodiak, but the Emergency Room remains busy with patients seeking COVID 19 related care.

 

To date, one thousand four hundred one (1401) cases, fifty-nine (59) hospitalizations, and five (5) deaths have been associated with COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.

 

Residents are encouraged to stay home if ill.

 

Close contacts of positive cases should socially distance and wear masks.

 

Before attending social gatherings residents should consider the number of people attending, and the ability to gather outside, while socially distancing.
