Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases rise to 86, three new hospitalizations

The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has announced 33 new cases of COVID-19 for the Kodiak Island Borough. Among them are four community transmission cases, 19 unknown transmission cases, three travel related cases, and seven close contact cases.

That adds up to 60 total cases reported this week, a number not seen since December of last year.

This brings the active case count to 86 cases locally, for a total of 1280 cases since the start of the pandemic.

There have been 55 local hospitalizations to date, three more since the Monday report. There are currently three active cases hospitalized in Kodiak.
