COVID Update Reader Friday, October 01, 2021

Today the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported twenty-nine (29) new cases of COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.

The Kodiak Public Health Office is now classifying the means of transmission for all cases of COVID 19 in the Kodiak Island Borough as community spread.

Two hundred seventy-one (271) cases of COVID 19 are currently classified as active locally. Three (3) active cases are currently hospitalized in Kodiak.

To date, two thousand two hundred twenty (2220) total cases, eighty-four (84) local hospitalizations, and seven (7) deaths have been associated with COVID 19 in the Kodiak Island Borough.

A mask mandate is in effect for indoor public spaces.

Vaccinations and COVID tests are available in the Kodiak area. Call your health care provider. The Kodiak Area Native Association can be reached at (907) 486-9800, and the Kodiak Community Health Center at (907) 481-5000.

Vaccinations are also available at the Safeway and Walmart pharmacies.
