The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly tonight has a wide range of items on its agenda. Everything from an ordinance to change the rules for attendance and vacancies on the assembly to an invitation to Governor Mike Dunleavy to visit.
A letter in the meeting packet invites the governor to come to Kodiak as part of his community outreach program to gather input from Alaskans on what the state should look like going forward.
Tonight’s regular meeting agenda also includes the introduction of an ordinance to amend the budget to account for the governor’s 50 percent funding cut to state aid for school construction debt. The payback for the high school construction was cut by Dunleavy last year.
Also tonight, a number of local residents are scheduled to be appointed to various borough boards and commissions.
The meeting begins at 6:30 in the Borough Assembly Chambers and KMXT will broadcast the meeting live.
For those wanting to comment on borough issues, there is a period near the beginning and end of the meeting for public comments.
