M/V Tustumena Sailings cancelled from June 27 to July 1 for continuing COVID-19 mitigation

The ferry Tustumena won’t be returning to Kodiak on June 28 as scheduled, because all sailings through July 1 have been cancelled for “continuing COVID-19 mitigation,” according to a state DOT press release.

Service is scheduled to resume when Tustumena departs Homer for Seldovia on July 2.

The Tustumena is next scheduled to arrive at 10:45, the morning of July 3 after stopping in Ouzinkie, and to depart by way of Ouzinkie for Homer at 5:00 p.m.

After the initial run, the Tusty is set to arrive in Kodiak on a trip from Homer at 8:15 p.m. on July 4th.

The M/V Kennicott is scheduled to return on its first trip of the season on Thursday, July 2 at 4:30 p.m. It will come from Whittier and then depart for Whittier at 9:30 p.m.

New rules for passengers go into effect prior to the sailings. All passengers must now show proof of a negative test for COVID-19. They must also wear masks onboard.

All passengers affected by the cancellation were being notified and re-booked, or refunded as necessary, according to the DOT.

The new sailing schedule is available at www.FerryAlaska.com or you can contact the AMHS reservation call center by dialing 1907-465-3941 or toll-free at 1-800-642-0066.
