BREAKING: A measure to extend the deadline for filing for the COVID-19 Payroll Protection Program is on its way to the president’s desk for his signature following a fast approval by both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan’s office reports that President Trump is expected to sign the measure.
If so, the deadline for the PPP will be August 8.
Late last week a change to the rules for qualifying was made that makes Alaska’s commercial fishermen eligible to get the loans designed to keep businesses afloat during the pandemic.
KMXT will have more information on Thursday, as well as a report on this week’s Alaska Fisheries Report, which airs Friday at 5:20 p.m. during the Evening News, and Saturday at 12:20 p.m. during the Mid-Day Report.
