Yesterday evening’s (Thursday evening’s) rocket launch was scrubbed again at the Pacific Spaceport Complex near Pasagshak.
Astra, an aerospace company based in California, was making a third attempt to launch their Rocket 3.1, a small rocket capable of delivering small satellites to a low orbit cluster of telecommunications satellites, after their first attempt on Sunday and second attempt on Tuesday.
But with favorable weather conditions on Thursday, Astra tried again. However, with three minutes before launch, an issue with the rocket’s water drainage system appeared.
The launch window that was approved by the FAA ended at 8:00 pm, and because of the mechanical delay, Astra could not launch in time.
Astra will make a final attempt today at 6:00 pm.
