In the past four days, Kodiak has seen nine new cases of COVID-19.
The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization reported three new cases today (Friday).
Two of those are close contacts of cases reported earlier this week at the Kodiak Coast Guard air station. That brings the cluster of cases tied to the base this week to eight. Two involve children.
The third new report is travel-related.
The emergency services group says close contacts of these recent cases have been identified and isolated. Currently there are ten cases classified as active locally. Since April, there have been 83 cases associated with the Kodiak Island Borough.
