Today (Friday) the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported eight (8) new cases of COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Two (2) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases, one (1) is travel related, and five (5) cases are classified as community spread.
One hundred twenty (120) cases are currently classified as active locally. There are five (5) active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak, and the Emergency Department remains busy with patients seeking COVID 19 related care.
To date, one thousand four hundred eighty-one (1481) cases, sixty-six (66) hospitalizations, and five (5) deaths have been associated with COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Residents are encouraged to stay home if ill, even if you have mild symptoms. Keep your distance from others whenever possible, and wear masks where appropriate.
