The Kodiak Island Borough saw an explosive increase in COVID-19 cases. 53 new cases were reported today for the last week. That’s after only 13 active cases were reported on December 22.
Among the 53 cases were 15 non-resident travel related cases. All cases were tested between December 21 and December 28.
There have been 2857 total COVID-19 cases to date for the Kodiak Island Borough, with 102 local hospitalizations and nine deaths due to the virus.
