During Kodiak CrabFest stop, Sen. Lisa Murkowski talks Pebble Mine, Roe v. Wade

Listen to the interview here:

Several congressional candidates made stops in Kodiak over the weekend for CrabFest – including Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Murkowski was last in Kodiak – virtually – in March for ComFish, when she gave a federal legislative update with Sen. Dan Sullivan. Much of the discussion then focused on the future of the Pebble Mine; since then, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has moved to permanently ban the project. During her CrabFest visit, Murkowski reiterated her support for protecting the area.

“I’m pretty sure most everyone knows I have come out in opposition of the Pebble project,” Murkowski said. “I’ve also said what I believe those in the region hope for is permanent protection.”

In between meet and greets with constituents and the CrabFest parade, Murkowski stopped by the studio and spoke to KMXT’s Kirsten Dobroth about the Pebble Mine. She also discussed the leaked Supreme Court opinion regarding Roe v. Wade, and the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
