Alaska Fisheries Report — Jan. 16, 2020

The Alaska Board of Fisheries continued its Kodiak meeting last week. Two big issues deal with salmon. We hear what some of those testifying have to say.

Chinook salmon are getting smaller and a University of Washington research team think killer whales might be behind the shrinking kings.

The Young Fishermen’s Summit is set for Jan. 21-23  to teach a new generation of fishermen the shore-based side of fishing.

We had help from Eric Stone with Alaska’s Energy Desk in Ketchikan. And Laine Welch from Alaska Fish Radio.

For you fishermen, good luck in 2020. Please put safety at the top of your list of resolutions for the new year.
