Ben Millstein and Cecil Ranney are the newest members of the Kodiak Electric Association Board of Directors. Ron Accarregui has also been re-elected to the board, as announced at last night’s (Monday’s) annual membership meeting.

Millstein says he was inspired to run for the KEA board by the current members, who he says are very forward thinking.

(KEA Meeting 1 :19s “…come through conservation.”)

Millstein, who owns the Kodiak Island Brewing Company, says as a business owner and an individual, he’s done a number of things to cut down on energy use and reduce his carbon footprint. He hopes to spread that message as a member of the KEA board.

(KEA Meeting 2 :26s “…it’s just fun to me.”)

Ranney is out of town and unavailable for comment. He and Millstein replace Kate Ballenger and Bob Hatcher, neither of whom sought re-election. Members of the KEA board serve three-years terms.

Nearly 300 KEA members attended the annual membership meeting, the 66th in the history of the electric co-op.
