Chamber Board Application Period Open

Jay Barrett/KMXT

Though the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting isn’t for two months, there’s only a few weeks to get nominations in for the board of directors election.

There are three open seats, all for three year terms. They currently belong to Lindsey Knight, who is the board president, Don Rush, who cannot run this year because of term limits, and Emily Salter.

Nominations are due no later than January 23rd and chamber members will vote in early February, with the winners announced at the February 25th annual dinner.

Nominating forms quiz potential board members with questions about various aspects of chamber business, such as what projects and philosophies the chamber should be concerned with, what role the chamber should take in promoting the economic health of the community and what the applicant thinks Kodiak’s economy will look like in the next 10 years. The forms are available on the chamber’s web site, Kodiak.org.
