The City of Kodiak is about to transition to a new city manager.

Current city manager Aimée Kniaziowski is soon to retire, and at the Kodiak City Council regular meeting last night, the council entered executive session to consider the a contract with her replacement.

Kniaziowski presented a brief timeline of the situation.

“Back on January 24th, you discussed the city manager’s recruitment. I laid out the choices for an internal candidate or an external recruitment process, and you proceeded to establish a hiring committee and begin discussing the Deputy City Manager.”

The executive session was the end of that discussion.

When it reconvened, the council voted to approve the contract with Deputy City Manager Mike Tvenge, who is soon to be known as City Manager Mike Tvenge.
