McClurr, Stover, Pigage and Pritchett win survival suit race

If you’ve never been in a survival suit in the water, you cannot imagine how difficult it is to maneuver. But maneuver they did–with the fastest time for this weekend’s Norm Holm Memorial Survival Suit Race at just 1:30:8.

That means they ran down the dock, donned their suits, passed the “zipper” test to be sure they were sealed up tight, hit the water, and swam out to the raft in less time than it takes to warm up a cup of coffee.

Thanks to Kodiak Fishermen’s Wives for race results and to Pam Foreman for photos.
