Bears Tennis Reaches Quarterfinals

Kodiak’s tennis team finished with six points in the state championships, at Alaska Club North in Anchorage. The team title was won by West Anchorage High School with 35 points, followed by South, Juneau, East and West Valley. Bears Coach Craig Johnson told KMXT that Brent Michalski had a first round win against Dimond on Friday, as did the the boys doubles team of Nick Edmunds and Jake Powell against Bartlett. Michalski was bounced in the quarterfinals 6-0, 6-1 by Service’s John Park. The doubles team was knocked out of the quarterfinals by West Valley 6-1, 6-0.
