Little Cowboys and Cowgirls Learn to Appreciate the Arts

After months of practice, East Elementary Kindergarteners, first graders and second graders presented their Music of the Wild West recital. Hundreds of parents gathered in the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium last night to listen to their children sing old cowboy songs and watch them do-si-do on stage while dressed up in modern-day prairie dresses or flannel shirts and cowboy boots.

Music Director Elizabeth Dano spoke with KMXT’s Jennifer Canfield about what it means to teach over 140 fidgety little ones how to sing and dance in front of a large crowd.
