Fall Storms Change Course of Cruise

The cruise season in Kodiak will end on a slightly disappointing note this year. Janet Buckingham is the executive director for the Kodiak Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and said the last cruise ship of the season is cancelling its trip to Kodiak. She said the Holland America Amsterdam ship is foregoing its usual tour across the Gulf of Alaska because of heavy weather forecasts this weekend. The cruise is on a 14 day trip from Seattle, and Buckingham said she’s unsure where it intends to go instead, but it will definitely not be making a stop in Kodiak.
