Kodiak Woman Sentenced for Trident Embezzlement

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A Kodiak woman has been sentenced to four months in prison for her role in an embezzlement scheme involving a seafood company.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Jamie Fathke was sentenced Wednesday on two counts of wire fraud. Fathke is one of five defendants charged in the matter.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aunnie Steward alleges that Isairis Wolfe used her position as bookkeeper for Trident Seafoods in Kodiak to write Trident checks totaling nearly $500,000 to four personal associates, including Fathke. Steward says Fathke worked with Wolfe to cash three fraudulent checks totaling $30,000 in 2009. She says the two shared the money.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Wolfe and two others are scheduled for trial in March. A fifth defendant has pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges.
