Bears Blank South JV, Move Up to No. 4 in Polls

In high school football, it was the weekend of the blow-out.
Not only did Kodiak’s varsity blank the South Anchorage JV squad 54-to-0, but other Northern Lights Conference teams faired just as well. Kenai crushed Homer 78-6 and Soldotna left Houston reeling 76-28.
Kodiak’s win moves them to number four in the statewide poll among small and medium-sized schools. Perennial powerhouse, and arch-rival, Soldotna is ranked first, followed by former large-school state champion Juneau-Douglas and Kenai-Central, all at 3-and-0. North Pole, at 2-1, rounds out the top five.
