Talk of the Rock — Mental Health in Schools

Play

Our guests this week are mental health professionalss who specialize in helping Kodiak children in the schools:

Susan Philo, a clinician at Providence Kodiak Island Hospital who is the Team lead for the school district’s clinician program, and

Kris Foster, the clinician at the Middle School.

We talk about many things related to the mental health of Koodiak’s school children. And how parents and others can help children in need.

This includes how abuse and neglect, and physical as well as mental trauma can cause problems for children trying to learn. And how childhood trauma can continue to haunt the person throughout their lives.
