There is a regular city council meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Assembly chambers.

On the agenda for this evening’s meeting, the council is announcing a proclamation of Filipino-American National History Month. They’ll also be holding a public hearing on a city property lease for North Pacific Fuel’s location on Pier 2.

Finally there is also a resolution of support for Kodiak Fisheries that the city council will be considering. The resolution requests the Alaska Board of Fisheries to support the Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s “traditional and historic management of Kodiak’s salmon fisheries.”

Along with the Fisheries Work Group, the city council is asking the Board of Fisheries to keep its upcoming January meeting in Kodiak, as opposed to moving to Anchorage. This would allow more local and village residents to testify in person.

The full agenda packet for tonight’s meeting can be found here. KMXT will broadcast the meeting live at 7:30 p.m.
