COVID Update Reader 10/25/2021

Today (Monday) the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center reported twenty-seven (27) new cases of COVID 19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.   The cases were tested between Tuesday, October 19th and Saturday October 23rd. Test related to hypersonic weapons program conducted at Kodiak Pacific Spaceport Complex

A military test related to the development of hypersonic weapons failed Thursday at the Kodiak Spaceport Complex, according to the Department of Defense. It is unclear if the failure caused any damage to the launch complex. Sun’aq Tribe’s Alutiiq master-apprentice program aims to create new generation of Alutiiq teachers

The Alutiiq language has lost four speakers in the last year. Tribal leaders say it’s a big loss — of the 30 remaining speakers, there are just a handful of people left who are able to teach Alutiiq.
