The Kodiak Island Borough saw an explosive increase in COVID-19 cases. 53 new cases were reported today for the last week. That’s after only 13 active cases were reported on December 22. This weekend, Kodiak Island broke the record for the warmest December temperature in the state. The Kodiak Tide Gauge station on the east side of the island recorded 67 degrees on Sunday.
