A venerable coffee table book of Kodiak Island photographs is getting an update this year, and the Chamber of Commerce is looking for some help filling it with images. Lindsey Howell, the chamber’s communications director, says not just any old snapshot will do – they’re looking for the best of the best.

Because the chamber plans on having the book ready for the summer tourist season, the deadline for additional photos is next Friday.

As soon as it’s done, the book will appear pretty much anywhere a tourist is likely to visit, so if you have a shot or two you’d like considered, drop them off at the chamber office in the ferry terminal building on a CD or flash drive. The extra added bonus of having a photo selected is that the chamber will pay the photographer for use of the image. The rate depends on how large it is reproduced in the book.
