Stevens Looks to New Role in Alaska Senate

Kodiak’s incumbent Republican Senator Gary Stevens will retain his seat in the Alaska Legislature this year. Stevens handily won re-election with 73 percent of the vote. He pulled in 7,095 votes in District P, compared to 27 percent for Cordova Democrat Robert “Moose” Henrich’s 2,628.
KMXT’s Brianna Gibbs caught up with Stevens after the election to see how it felt to be re-elected.
Stevens said he is looking forward to meeting with constituents before heading back to Juneau in January to see how he can make things work for the new District P. We have a list of key senate leadership positions after the jump.
