Americana rock and folk musician, Tim Easton, is coming to Kodiak for a series of performances, including one next week at the fairgrounds.

Easton says he was a street musician in Europe for about seven years before he started making records, and he’s still traveling.

“I was just in Japan, but probably most excited about – you know, my life is a working vacation, and Kodiak is gonna be a vacation from my working vacation.”

Easton says he writes many of his own songs, and some of them are inspired by the clubs, bars, and homes he performs in every day.

“Oftentimes I eavesdrop and / or take stories from things I’ve heard while traveling around, and of course, Alaska provides a lot of that.”

And like many other people, musician or not, Easton is coming to Kodiak with the hope of catching a fish or two. Easton’s performances in Kodiak will include a concert at the fairgrounds on Friday, August 17 starting at 6 p.m.
