Jay Barrett/KMXT Governor Sarah Palin has reappointed a Kodiak man to the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation’s board of directors. Marty Shuravloff is the director of the Kodiak Island Housing Authority. He, along with Jo Heckman, the president and CEO of Denali State Bank in Fairbanks, were both reappointed on Friday.

Jay Barrett/KMXT The saga of the grounding of the fishing vessel Nordic Viking seems to be coming to a close. The 130-foot boat, acting as a tender, ran aground near Point Gravina in Prince William Sound in July last year, leaking 35-hundred gallons of diesel fuel. Kodiak skipper Dale Pruitt was at the helm of boat at the time.

That’s according to results released today (Friday) by the State Department of Education and Early Development. KMXT’s Casey Kelly has more.
