28-Year-Old Kodiak Man Killed in Shooting

The Alaska State Troopers say 28-year-old Justen Nixon of Kodiak was shot at 3:18 a.m. Saturday morning while at a house party on Spruce Cape Road. Short Outage at KEA Substation

Jay Barrett/KMXT A short power outage at 8:52 this (Thursday) morning left Kodiak Electric customers from Gibson Cove to Monashka Bay without electricity for about a half hour. KEA spokeswoman Nancy Sweeney said the problem was a cable fault at the Hartman Substation, which is adjacent to the co-op’s headquarters and power house.
